Tips and Tricks to Prevent Frozen Pipes in Your Home

With below freezing temperatures expected in the coming days, we have provided some tips to prevent frozen pipes and potential water damage in your apartment, townhomes and homes. It is critical to stay informed about weather updates and take necessary safety measures during this cold weather period:
Maintain consistent heat: Keep your thermostat set to a minimum of desired temperature, typically around 65 degrees Fahrenheit at all times, even when you are away.
Let faucets drip: Allow a slow drip from your kitchen and bathroom sink faucets to prevent water from freezing inside the pipes.
Open cabinet doors: Leave cabinet doors under sinks open to allow warm air to circulate around plumbing.
Check for drafts: Seal any noticeable drafts around windows and doors to maintain indoor warmth.
Disconnect outdoor hoses: Insulate any outdoor water hook ups with outdoor sleeves you can purchase at any local hardware store.
If you experience any plumbing issues, such as no water or suspected frozen pipes, contact Elder Management Company immediately!
